New
York City resident and Chinese-born figure,
portrait, and landscape artist Li Ming Shun
announces his January 2002 Art Show "Thailand
2002". Li Ming Shun specializes in the
drawing of the Asian male nude. His
charcoal/pencil and pastel drawings are a
manifestation of Li Ming Shun's love for male
beauty and have no pornographic quality in them.
His models are typical young men as opposed to
the professional model. He has built a diverse
portfolio of uniquely beautiful Asian men in
thoughtful poses. He has scoured Asia during two
recent extended trips to Thailand and China over
the past one and a half years for exceptional
candidates in appearance and manner. Numerous
drawings of those stunning young men have been
hand-picked for this upcoming show. He hopes that
the elegance of the male form that he captures
with his pencil will satisfy all of those who
appreciate the unique beauty that is the Asian
male nude.
Li's work has been
exhibited in over a dozen countries throughout
the world. Some hang in numerous private,
corporate and museum collections, including those
of Dr. Armand Hammer, Occidental Petroleum
Corporation, IBM, Chinese Arts Academy, and
Contemporary International Museum of Art. He is
an accomplished landscape and commission portrait
artist and has done portraits for Prime Ministers
and corporate chief executives in Asia and North
America. This will be his second exhibit of his
work in Thailand. He says he loves Bangkok, which
is so different from New York.
Thailand 2002
opens in Bangkok, Thailand on 10 January at
Dick's Cafe and continue through February
13. His portfolio can be viewed on his web
site at http://www.limingshunasianart.com.
